Electrical Design Engineer

We are looking for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our professional, expert and friendly team in Letchworth.

Job purpose

  • To undertake the electrical design of complex electro-mechanical software assembly and test machine projects
  • To contribute to all stages of design project cycles, from research and design, to manufacturing, installation, testing and decommissioning
  • To support electrical, design and engineering activities across all phases of the design and build process from client specification, through to manufacturing and client support
    on or off-site

You will need

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
    (Master's preferred for progression)
  • To demonstrate aspiration, or eligibility, to register at Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with a recognised engineering institution
  • Electrical Solidworks experience
  • A highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Project Engineer

We are looking for a talented Project Engineer with proven leadership and communication skills, to join our professional, expert and friendly team in Letchworth.

Job purpose

  • To manage the worldwide delivery of complex assembly and test machine design and build projects, from concept to site installation, using a structured and auditable process
  • To deliver well planned projects in line with clients’ requirements, needs and expectations, on time and on budget
  • To have a holistic view of the whole project, coordinating teams of electrical, mechanical, software, engineers, assembly teams and subcontractors facilitating communication across departments and stakeholders

You will need

  • To be working towards CEng in either mechanical, electrical or software is preferred
  • Graduate level, preferably with a higher degree in a relevant technical discipline and/or a professional qualification
  • A project management qualification is desirable
  • A high level of commercial awareness and contract matters

  • To take responsibility for the integrity of electrical design and its communication to the rest of the business
  • To undertake the electrical design of complex electro-mechanical software assembly and test machine projects
  • To contribute to all stages of design project cycles, from research and design, to manufacturing, installation, testing and decommissioning
  • To supervise, check, approve and sign off the team’s work

You will need

  • A Master’s Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
    (1st or 2nd class division 1 honours)
  • To demonstrate aspiration, or eligibility, to register at Chartered Engineer status with a recognised engineering institution
  • Extensive experience working in the electrical engineering field
  • Solidworks CAD modelling, drafting and analysis experience
  • A highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Senior Software/Systems Engineer

We are looking for an exceptional and highly motivated Senior Software/Systems Engineer with excellent leadership and communications skills, to join our professional, expert and friendly team in Letchworth.

Job purpose

  • The ideal candidate will have a background in controls and automation engineering with a leaning or desire towards working with special purpose manufacturing/test machines varying in complexity and technology from legacy systems to the cutting-edge
  • You will be client focussed in order to deliver systems on time and to a high quality that you can be proud of
  • We traditionally operate our systems based on a PC platform (VB6/VB.NET/C#), looking to the future we are planning to create hybrid systems where PLCs can also be included and where applicable be totally PLC based, we are mindful of utilising the best technology for the task at hand
  • You will oversee the system/software design with a mix of the vee model and agile methods, utilising the best of both worlds in order to deliver well documented, timely and cutting-edge systems
  • As an architect of the system, you will take our technology to the next level with a consideration for Industry 4.0/IIOT and bring in new systems/methodologies
  • Mentoring and leading the system/software engineers during your day-to-day work to function as a cohesive and dynamic team of diverse people in a welcoming environment

You will need

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field to Automation/Special purpose machines and/or Software/System design
  • Demonstrable experience working in the Software or Systems Engineering field
  • Experience in writing code in C#, Visual Basic 6 and/or .NET (Other languages can be considered)
  • Experience with GIT (Currently use BitBucket) software version control
  • Ability to use Microsoft Visual Studio (2017 onwards preferred)
  • Understanding of Vision, Robot, production line testing, Programmable Logic Controllers and other automation technology is desirable
  • Experience of digital twin/virtual commissioning platforms
  • Experience in leading teams, projects or development is desirable. Full support will be given
