What’s New from Our Suppliers

What’s New from Our Suppliers

It has been a busy few weeks at ALPHR, and not just with customer visits. We have also had some really useful catch-ups with a few of our suppliers. These sessions are always a good chance to see what is new, explore how the latest tech could slot into our systems, and keep the conversation going with the people behind the products we use every day.

Our first visit was from the team at Desoutter, who came in to share updates on their latest product range. It is always valuable to see what is new from them, especially as we look to improve how we manage assembly processes and enhance traceability. A few of their newer tools and solutions look promising for future projects, and it was great to have some time to explore those together.

Next, we spent time with SMC, who also brought along a selection of updated products. With so many of their components being core to automation systems, keeping up to speed with their latest developments helps us make better design choices for our customers. It was a good reminder of how even small improvements in things like pneumatics can lead to bigger gains in performance and efficiency.

One of the more in-depth sessions came from Sam Humphriss at APC Technology Group, who visited alongside Roy Hali from Hioki. They were here to demonstrate Hioki’s PW8001 High Precision Power Analyser, and it really caught our attention. This piece of kit is built for measuring the currents and voltages generated by power converters and inverters, which makes it especially relevant for electric vehicle chargers and traction motor drives. With more EV related work on the horizon, the potential to integrate this into future test equipment is definitely something we are excited about.

Working Smarter Starts with Talking Often

We say it a lot, but staying close to our suppliers is just as important as staying close to our customers. These conversations help us design better systems, bring new ideas into play, and ensure we are always offering something relevant, reliable and ready for the future.
